You are about to read the story of my amma who passed away on June 18, 2020.
I’m publishing this on her first death anniversary – Jun 18, 2021.
In a way, this is my story too, as my life had been so much intertwined with that of amma’s last almost ten years.
While in large part it is a personal memoir, I have also tried to provide inputs based on research I did on specific ailments she suffered from – restless legs syndrome, aortic dissection, varicose veins, and hypertension.
I’m hope that my efforts, in addition to providing me solace of having done something for amma, also provides something of value to the readers.
Rather than publish it as a book, I decided to go the blog route and publish each chapter (about 100) as a blog post. This makes it easy for you to read only certain sections or chapters, and also makes it easy for you to provide feedback or comments on specific chapters.
While my official name is Narasimhan Santhanam, I’m called Balaji at home (and by amma). So that is the name you will see as the author of blog posts.
I have tried to make the navigation as easy as possible for you to go from one chapter to the next (or the previous, or to any other chapter) without having to do too many clicks through navigation aids at the bottom of each post. There is also a way by which you can read the work differently, and in a bit of fun way – check out how here.
Thank you, and look forward to your comments and feedback to any of the chapters you decide to read in this memoir.
